2015 PLD Election ― You Can Vote Now Through Oct. 8

Dear PLD Member:

The online ballot to cast your vote in the election of Portuguese Language Division Administrator and Assistant Administrator for the term 2015-2017 is now available.

To vote in this election, you must be a member in good standing of the American Translators Association and the Portuguese Language Division. You must enter your Member Number and Password.

October 8, 2015 Midnight US Eastern Daylight Time.

Background: Division Administrator and Assistant Administrator are two-year positions. Earlier this year the PLD Nominating Committee announced the 2015 PLD candidates in the slate broadcast to the PLD membership. PLD members were given 45 days after the slate broadcast to object to the slate or add candidates to the slate.

Voting: In the case of an uncontested election, division officers are declared by acclamation. In the case of a contested election, balloting is conducted by electronic ballot. This is a contested election for Administrator and Assistant Administrator.

Results of the Election: Results of the election will be announced during the Portuguese Language Division Annual Meeting (12:30pm-1:00pm, Friday, November 6), scheduled to be held during ATA’s 56th Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency Miami in Miami, Florida.
