With the rapid growth (15% a year) of the translation and interpretation industry and the increasing notoriety of Portuguese in the world, it is not surprising that our membership is increasing. As of May, we were 1,121 strong.

In this issue we bring you reviews of the Boston conference and our mid-year conference in Alexandria last year, as well as a piece honoring Regina Alfarano, the recipient of the last Mário Ferreira Award.

“Canto Legal” is back, as well as Member Profiles and our Poetry Corner.

Check out Ricardo Souza, a new contributor.

And last but not least, don’t miss my interview with Ana Iaria, well known in our Yahoo! group and even better known by those who never miss the annual conference. Translator, speaker, teacher, instructor, blogger, member of a few boards, a woman with opinions and a CAT/cat lover.
